THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I am so glad I stumbled across your website. My coumputer crashed six months ago. I have asked everyone how I could get and keep my music since the old computer died and I couldn’t get it out. I have over 1500 songs on my ipod. Went to the apple store and they couldn’t help, duh; and they made the darn thing. All they could tell me is save on another source when I get new music. That did NOTHING for valuable music I have and can not replace on my ipod now. So you can tell I have been holding onto the music in my ipod for dear life not wanting to erase when I sync with my new computer. Their system is so crazy! This took a minute for me to figure out but I have my music (saved on an external drive for future problems). All but about 8 songs transferred which I can work with.

I have a MAC formatted ipod ( a gen 1 nano) that a friend of mine loaded from his massive CD collection that he put on his MAC. I need to rip the music off of my ipod (there is a recall on my nano and it has to go to Apple and will come back empty) and store it and then restore the content to my ipod when I get it back. The problem is I dont have an itunes account because all of the content was originally burned from my buddy’s MAC and I own a PC. Many of the software programs available all say the same thing that you cant put the MAC formatted ipod content on a PC and I dont have a MAC. Do you know of any way for me to get the content off the MAC formatted ipod and store it on my PC?

I have a mac laptop, and an ipod nano that i needed to copy songs from to my mac. so i downloaded sharepod and it didn’t work (said it was a windows app)? so then i downloaded expod and extracted the songs to my music folder where it saved them all as mp3 files. the mp3 files will not show up in my itunes. any help would be appreciated!?

I just copied songs off my ipod using the first method it worked I restored my songs but some of the codes didnt disappear and I’m not able to find any song I look for. How can I fix this. Thanks…

Im scared to try it cuz my computer crashed and i have 2,489 songs most of them are purchesed does that method work for windows ? For purcheses ? I need to know cuz my ipod touch is old and none of the buttons work plz write me back im getting a new one soon and i need to know if it wont delete my purchsed songs its a first generation ipod touch thanks for the method tho ill try it once i get a answer

None for a mac are completly free it is blowing my life i have downloaded them all and they only copy a small amount

I have a windows configured ipod and just purchased a mac. if I plug the ipod to the mac, will itunes start deleting the songs off my ipod before I have a chance to try any of the other methods mentioned here?
