LOL, i love it – 'christmas in july' (i think it's such a good idea, i'm sending this page/your comment to AA). :) anyway, i'm really loving Bridge End as my total fave outta the six yet released. dunno if you were of an age to relate to stuff in post @FreeA3 this AM, but:

'...i love this imagery: "...the winter sun... pallid and weak, through broken windows it struggles..."

'and the bit about "thoughts turn to Summer-y Hell..." ... this tune's rather evocative of how we ("we" meaning those Americans who were teenagers in the late 60s, teenagers AND aware of things). anyway, AFAIC, it's evocative of this sinking feeling we all got, thanks to Tate/Manson, Altamount, the continuing massive fuck-up in 'Nam, Nixon &c.

'and a few years later, we got "No Future" ––> heh. ... a lot of us back then were aware enough to be self-conscious of where it seemed our country was going ... IMO, Bridge End perfectly evokes the flavor of that time, when all hope dissolved into an ugly sad mess of current events and forgotten ideals. nb: being depressed/cynical all my life, i never had such ideals, but hey, i dug watching/reading others who did...'

did you get any of that whilst listening to the name-checking in BE? i'm waiting on Chris' reply as well; i wanna know cause i respect both of your opinions and you being about a decade younger than me, and the fact that he's twenty + years younger... well, y'know. i'm truly interested in how you both feel, coming from your diverse PsOV. :)

lol... to tell the truth, I can't decide a "favorite" on a new Alabama 3 tune until I hear it about a dozen times. I just kinda made a snap judgement and downloaded them...

I did notice that they were going to have trouble getting 12 by December with a monthly schedule -- I figured maybe they'll double up one month; "Christmas in July" or some such thing...

right, forgot to ask which your faves are. in january i couldn't decide between 'rush' and their cover of LWTUA. same deal february; difficult to choose between 'crashed' and 'bridge end'.

naturally i have issues w/their very limiting 'good, bad, ugly' ratings... *sigh* but at least they're finally on their way to acting in a Web-like manner more in tune w/their musical cutting-edge-genre-mixivity; praise Jebus they're getting hip to the Internets. ;-)

ahhhh... as you can see, i finally re-fired up my feedreader today and am shuddering under the deluge (and thanks to me remembering to move you up, so to speak, i can finally read the good bits first--you).

but back to this wondrous album -- did you do the maths? they didn't and why are we not surprised? *snigger* it seems december 08, the 12th month's tunes will be out on new year's eve...welp, you know the rest. *wack*

typical! *in a BBC accent* ;-)
