Panther 10.3.3 and Airport DHCP after sleep
March 16, 2004
Apparently the 10.3.3 update to Panther fixed what has been my most persistent problem with the Powerbook.
Sometime between when I first loaded it up (when it worked fine) and about a week ago, my Powerbook developed a strange problem with wi-fi DHCP—it would get a proper address from DHCP on boot or restart, but if I let it go to sleep, when it woke up it wouldn’t be able to DHCP—I’d have to restart it to get back online (which kind of takes away from that “open it and it’s ready” experience). I’m not sure whether the 10.3.2 update broke things, or whether all of my dinking with Bluetooth GPRS did, but it quit working, presenting no end of annoyance.
I updated to 10.3.3 last night, and today it seems to work flawlessly (knocking on wood).
