Engadget has up “exclusive pics of TiVo Download “.

Apparently they’re doing a trial of 60 minutes of previews of IFC’s new fall lineup.

The bad news — IFC previews is a long ways from downloading new releases from Netflix.

The good news — Hey! Greg the Bunny is back on IFC this fall!

Lower Tivo FeesThere's a rumor going 'round that threatening to leave Tivo to go to your Cable provider's PVR gets you a prompt offer to cut your monthly Tivo fee in half. If you are a monthly TiVo subscriber, it appears that TiVo is desperate enough to keep you as a subscriber that they will lower your monthly bill by 50% if you threaten to leave due to wanting to switch to your cable providers DVR service. This will effectively drop your bill from $12 per month right down to $6. Of course there's always the chance they'll tell you not to let the door hit 'ya on the way out instead... (via PVRWire)...

Download Mangers Rock…I vaguely remember download managers, back in the bad old dial-up days.  At that point they were usually tools to resume downloads if your connection died before it all trickled in (a not too uncommon occurance).  I’ve ignored them since then. The other day I happened to run into Speed Download 2, a download manager for OS X.  For some reason, I looked at it long enough to figure out that it actually rocks for broadband users.  By opening up simultaneous connections, it downloads large files much faster than normal—right to the edge of the connection speed, if the pipeline in between can be driven that fast.  For a test, I downloaded an hour-long MP3 from the BBC site, and...
