No Comments for YouI hate comment spam as much as the next person (which is why you have to type in those annoying captcha things when leaving a comment), and so I was thrilled to find a Spam Assassin plugin for WordPress (which I run on several sites, just not this one). Until I got to the bottom of the post.  They check the various blackhole lists, and since I’m on Comcast (my desktop, not my site), my current dynamic IP address is listed.  No big surprise—Comcast doesn’t block port 25 (at least not in all areas), and as a result, a lot of e-mail spammers live there.  Going through the lookup, the blackhole list collected some e-mail spam from this IP address...

Best PDA-enabled web sites? One thing about the Treo 650 is I find I actually use the web browser, which is something I’ve seldom ever done on Wi-Fi PDAs, WAP phones, etc.  In fact, I use it enough that I’m beginning to develop a collection of “favorite” PDA-enabled sites.  (Yes, making a PDA-enabled view of this site is on my to-do list somewhere too...) Here’s my current list—please share your own favorites! In no particular order: http://mobile.answers.com/ - Useful for looking up all sorts of strange things. http://pda.en.wapedia.org/ - Wikipedia for PDAs http://www.google.com/xhtml - Google Mobile Search http://www.accuweather.com/pda/pda_5dy.asp?act=L - Accuweather Mobile http://mobile.wunderground.com/ - Weather Underground Mobile http://www.google.com/xhtml?site=local - Google Mobile Local (beta) What’s on your PDA? ...

Video iPod Imminent?Apparently the iTunes 4.8 update wasn't quite the yawner it first appeared to be. iTunes 4.8 users can now purchase and download music videos with select albums from iTunes Music Store. This has led to some fairly rampant speculation about whether a Video iPod is in the wings. Well, maybe... Certainly it's likely that the iPod will eventually go there, in order to remain in the high-end of the portable player market, if nothing else. I think it's likely we'll see some Apple encroachment on the living room first, however. Apple wants to widen its base as the premier provider of downloadable content as fast as possible, and let's face it, if you're going to peddle downloadable video, the 10...

First Look at (5G) Video iPodiLounge has up a pretty detailed first look at the new "Fifth Generation" Video iPod. Here's my take... As per usual for newly announced Apple products, my drool factor for this thing is awfully high, but also as per usual, it's a real mixed bag of an announcement. On the upside, it's an iPod, so of course it's sleek and sexy. It's thinner, it has a bigger screen, it's available in black (without U2 even), it (predictably) came in at the previous generation's price point. And hey, it has video! On the downside, thinner and bigger screen also go hand in hand with a reduced battery life in the specifications. They rearranged the top of the unit again, which obsoletes...

Why you should read weblogsYou're a busy person, and you already spend all of the time you can afford keeping up with your industry.  Should you bother taking the time to learn about weblogs?  You betcha -- the benefits to your business and your bottom line can be immense, and once you do, you'll wonder what you were waiting for. The most common misconception about blogs is that they are all written by teenage girls writing about their angst-ridden love lives, shut-in geeks talking about what they had for lunch, or wannabe political pundits trying to overthrow the government. Well, okay.  All of those things are out there.  But you don't avoid the newsstand simply because it carries teen magazines and the occasional comic...
