2010 running xp sp3 media center edition and this fix works. Tried to watch live tv, not recording. Problem surfaced today. “Blue Screen of Restricted Content”. Searched for answers. Tried the microsoft update for restricted content problem. No luck. Tried this fix, worked like a charm. Made the note, because others may have this problem. Thanks for the solution.

Sharepod is a great software to do just that. It gives you an option on either to save music to your computer only or also to iTunes. It's a good software and free. Only thing is not sure of any viruses in software. But I would definatly recommend it.

Can someone help me with this issue: To make a long story short, Itunes wants to register my IPod as new for some reason so the only way for me to keep my 3000 songs is to upload them from my Ipod to my computer in another folder..once I click register or never register on ITunes when I plug in my IPod it will wipe out my songs..so I need to store them in a folder other than ITunes so I can wipe it out and then add all my songs...the only suggesttions and programs I've seen are for putting songs directly into your ITunes or it automatically taking them over. I need to just store them on a folder that has nothing to do with ITunes and then go in and connect my Ipod and then transfer them over..all without losing my songs on another folder...it's ridiculous. Let me also warn anyone not to update to ITunes 9 if you have a classic IPod..it's not compatible and you will lose everything..at least I did and Apple cannot help me..yet are aware of the problem!! Anyway, if anyone can suggest the best way I would so appreciate it. Thanks

Step 1 worked great. Two points of clarification: If you are on Vista the instructions for showing hidden files won't work (atleast they didn't for me). Second point, when I tried to add the folders to iTunes nothing happened until deselected hidden from the folder properties.

Mac formatted Ipod to Windows 7:
1. HFSExplorer. http://hem.bredband.net/catacombae/hfsx.html
2. Extract Music folder to folder on Windows 7.
3. Import to Itunes 9.

Worked great...tags and artwork intact.

This worked great. I then downloaded ITUNES and it automatically moved all of the songs from the folder on the computer to ITUNES in no time at all! 16gb of crap!

Thank you sooooo much for this post, i needed this desperately I used the method 1 but i found that using add file to library (the last step) worked, instead of adding the folder to the libarary.

Great success and thanks sooooo much again!!!!
