Life on Fast Forward
January 10, 2004
I can’t believe it’s already 2004, and ten days into it to boot… The past few weeks have been mostly a blur—of getting ready for the holidays, dealing with creaky winter infrastructure around the homested, and making a mad dash through “hightened security” airports and holiday crowds to the sub-zero north to visit my mother, who recently suffered a stroke.

A new problem that’s cropped up lately, however is that its clock has developed a serious amount of drift (about five minutes over the last week).
The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two

I first ran into The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two quite some time ago, and it’s influenced my approach to many things over time. I just happened to run across the above link to an online version, so I figured I’d include it here.
